Wayne Wong will share details and answers questions on the new round of the Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program. This loan comes direct from the SBA (Small Business Administration) with low-interest and long-terms. This program is aimed to help small businesses overcome the effects of the pandemic by providing working capital to meet operating expenses.
David Daly will speak on MEO’s Maui Micro-Agriculture Grants for operating farms on Maui, Molokai and Lanai. Grant funds are available for expanding farm yield capacity and production; improving safety and health practices; increasing business acumen; and more.

Wayne Wong, Director, SBDC
Wayne Wong is a recovering “technologist” with over 30 years of Information Technology experience including several senior management positions during the heyday of the “dot com” era. He is also a co-founder and co-producer of the Grammy Award winning live concert series “Masters of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar”. He currently utilizes his entrepreneur expertise as the Director of the Hawaii Small Business Development Center (SBDC), Maui Center, providing no-cost business counseling, advice and training to Maui County. Mr. Wong graduated from Kamehameha High Schools and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Washington and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Puget Sound.
Dave Daley, Director of Business Development, MEO
David Daly has over 25 years of experience working with small businesses on Maui. This experience includes business ownership, financing, education and economic development. David’s background includes residential lending and being a FINRA licensed Financial Advisor.
David was hired in March of 2009 as an MEO BDC Loan Fund Manager. His duties included teaching the Core Four Business Planning classes, underwriting and managing microloan loans, and providing support and technical assistance to entrepreneurs on the islands of Maui and Lana’i. During his time with the program he traveled to Lana’i weekly to conduct Core Four Business Planning classes and provide support and technical assistance to the island’s small business entrepreneurs.
